FAQ
Before you reach out, take a look at some of our frequently asked questions. We may have already answered what you’re wondering!
What types of cattle do you raise?
At Pequeño Ranch, we take pride in raising a variety of animals, each with its own unique qualities. Our ranch family includes: American Aberdeen cattle: Known for their fertility, easy calving, and efficiency on grass, our Aberdeens offer high-quality beef with a calm temperament. They are a great addition to any ranching program. Mini Hereford cattle: These compact and docile cattle are a favorite due to their easy handling and delicious, tender meat. Their smaller size makes them perfect for smaller ranches like ours. Kune Kune pigs: These adorable and friendly pigs are known for their round, sturdy bodies and quiet demeanor. They are a joy to have around and are perfect for those looking for small-scale, sustainable farming options. Mini donkeys: Our donkeys may not be mini, but they’re still full of charm! These gentle animals bring a lot of warmth and personality to the ranch, and they’re known for their affectionate and protective nature. Chickens: Our free-range chickens are an important part of the ranch, providing fresh eggs and a bit of fun with their quirky personalities. Bees: We also raise bees, contributing to the health of the environment while producing some delicious honey. Our bees play a crucial role in pollinating the ranch’s plants and flowers.
When will animals be for sale?
At this time, we expect to offer our animals for sale starting in Spring of 2026. We’re carefully nurturing our herd and ensuring they are raised with the utmost care and attention. Our goal is to offer high-quality animals that are not only healthy but also raised in a way that aligns with our values of sustainability and ethical practices. What sets us apart?
At our farm and ranch, every day begins with purpose and connection. This isn’t just a place where animals live—it’s a place where they thrive, and where relationships are built on trust, care, and respect. Personalized Care, Every Day We know each animal by name—and they know us. Daily interaction fosters trust and allows us to understand their individual personalities, strengths, and needs. Health is Our Heritage We feed and observe our herd daily, not just to maintain optimal body condition, but to proactively monitor for health or behavioral changes. Quick, compassionate action is our standard. Smart Pasture Management Our pastures are thoughtfully designed with both animal and land health in mind. Kevin has invested deeply in rotational grazing strategies that promote sustainability, soil vitality, and long-term productivity. Lifelong Learners, Passionate Stewards Coming from non-ranching backgrounds, we bring a fresh perspective and a hunger to learn. We research deeply, adapt quickly, and love sharing what we’ve learned with others—whether it’s a success story or a lesson learned the hard way. Driven by Curiosity, Fueled by Grit We believe that if someone else has done it, we can do it better. That mindset has brought us both triumphs and teachable moments—always with a sense of humor and a spirit of resilience.
